Canadian Thanksgiving

Since Kenny, Sarah, Barb and I won't be in town for Thanksgiving this year Michelle and Trevor hosted Thanksgiving in October so we could go! Also, Trevor is Canadian and they celebrate Thanksgiving in October SO all the food was Canadian style.

While Michelle slaved away in the kitchen we played with the babies-
Barb and Matt
 Sarah and Emma

Here are some pictures of the rest of us --

Nanette and Zack (isn't Zack's expression hilarious?)
Kenny and his Nana

All of us- Trevor holding Sadie, Nanette holding Matt, Andy, Kim holding Zack, Michelle holding Emma, Kenny, Me, Barb and Sarah-

The Food--  Ah the food... it was all new and different and delicious- my favorite was the Pecan Pumpkin pie for sure!

They deep fried the turkey in Peanut Oil-
Kenny and Kim's boyfriend Robbie watching the oil....
Trevor carving the turkey -
Zack made the sweet potatoes (okay Michelle helped him a little)

okay boys dig in!
 Everyone diggin in
Matt was afraid we would forget about him...
To follow Venable tradition each child gets to "eat" a drumstick on their first thanksgiving-
Good thing there are 2 so Emma could try one too!
Then Barb let them try pretty much everything else...
Trevor and Kenny did the dishes :)
And Emma crashed-
TWICE! TOO much Turkey for this little one!
Last here is the hostess gift Kenny and I brought for Michelle and Trevor. My grandma has always given us a gift when we hosted Thanksgiving and I loved it so much. Putting together a big meal like this is SO time consuming, expensive and just a lot of work and it is nice to know it is appreciated. Michelle did such a good job cooking all of the dished FROM SCRATCH and we really enjoyed being able to be there for the twins first Thanksgiving.
