Paintball Punks

Brian LOVES Paintball. Kenny likes paintball. I tolerate paintball...

Since our Pogo pass includes a FREE monthly visit I decided to schedule the outing... not realizing it was the same time as the Cardinals came. oops. That put a damper on the afternoon.

THEN there were these punk paintball kids who were not following the rules... as I have said before I barely like to paintball. I mostly just hide and wait for the round to be over... Well these kids would gang up on us (individually) and even when you were hit and lifted your gun they continued to shoot you... They didn't follow the game rules either. Thats just not fun.

I looked at Kenny in the game (it was much worse that this) and the entire left side of his face was COVERED in paint. No mercy.

Brian got it bad too. He got shot across his collar bones... ouch!

The guys didn't say much, but I was livid. Why have rooms if the refs are not going to enforce them? I didn't play the last round. When we were walking out they asked if we had fun and I said No. He listened to our story and gave us some free passes to come back and said he would talk to the refs. I am sure we will give it another try... but I was still mad!

BBQ

Any occasion is a good excuse to make something fun off pinterest! I made these lady bugs from here. I didn't follow the recipe exactly... I just bought pre-made dip and mixed 2 oz of cream cheese with 2 TBS of dip. It tasted great. I also didn't have black food coloring that is why my lady bugs look a little blue ; )

Tonight Blair had us over for a BBQ with a few of her friends that were visiting from CA.

There was some excitement when this frog (can you find him in the picture?) came hoping up onto the porch and made it into the back door!

We played an intense game of Pictionary:  men vs. women .... guess who one? The ladies of course! We always win!

Today was my 30th hot yoga class at Bikram Yoga Peoria.

Its always exciting when you are able to slip into a position you have never done before, but today I had all kinds of improvements! In at least 5 positions!!

Luke Bryan / Jason Aldean

20,000 tickets sold out in minutes.

Kenny asked me to try to get the tickets and by some miracle I got them!

The traffic was miserable. It took aver 45 minutes to get into the venue and into a parking spot (in a DARK, dirt lot).

100+ degree weather

....

And somehow it was still pretty fun.

The wanna be cowboys, fueled with alcohol made for an uncomfortable atmosphere...
A cool lifted truck we saw (I think I probably could have walked under it without ducking)

Luke Bryan was my favorite of the two artist! He had a lot more personality in his 'show'. He did an 'out take' where he pretended he was going to sing a Justin Bieber Song... "If I was your boyfriend..." Ha ha
Later he did the Metallic song Sandman too which was pretty fun and actually good! I made a Luke Bryan station on my Pandora today : )

Luke Bryan
Uggghh the PEOPLE
Jason Aldean was good too, I was just running on "E" by the time he came out at quarter to ten. Someone vomited a few seats down from us and a group of people were practically dry humping in front of us... oh and the air smelled like beer.... I sounds so whining huh? I really did have fun, its just not our type of venue anymore. I was happy we purchased real seats not the lawn seats. The tickets were about $75 each.... plus we spent $20 on water that night.... for a second it was like being in Hawaii again (just the second when we paid ha ha). I am not sure I will be back for another concert there.

When we came out we realized Kenny's car had be vandalized. It was very upsetting. An invasion of safety and privacy. It just made me feel icky.

Pancake Breakfast

I am on the Health & Wellness Committee at work with Jereme, Bev and Nadine and today we put on a Pancake Breakfast (I know not very healthy) to benefit the Susan G Komen quest for a Cure.

The plan was Jereme was going to cook all the pancakes and the rest of us would just serve and make more batter etc..... unfortunately we popped a breaker right at 8:30 when a line had formed...

We took the griddles to separate plugs and I had to decide... wait for Jereme to cook all the pancakes for that long line of people on one little griddle or jump in and give it a try.... It was actually so much fun!

A few people actually requested my pancakes!!

Here is a picture of some of my first pancakes EVER!

We raised over $123 this morning! Woot woot !

The Simple Weekend

Kenny and I were planning on going camping for the weekend, but I just wasn't feeling it. So we decided to skip this weekend and stay in town.
Saturday we spent the day with the Taylors. We started our day with some shopping at Target. We found lost of treasures on clearance and too many things we couldn't live without ; )
Kenny, Brian and the boys snacking on popcorn while my mom and I finished shopping
We had a nice lunch at New York Pizza Dept .
Mom, Jacob and Little Brain
After lunch we went to Updown Alley, a new entertainment venue in Surprise. They have a bowling alley, bar/restaurant area and an awesome arcade. My brother had $31.00 in quarters... the funny thing is none of the machines actually take quarters anymore! The cashier had to count and roll all the quarters and put the money on a plastic card that we all had to share. It actually worked out really well so the boys didn't run out and spend all their quarters way before we did : )

Then my mom and brother played... my mom WON!!

We just relaxed and got things done around the house the rest of the weekend. It was nice to get caught up on homework and housework!

Fall Garden Planted

I finally got around to planting my Lobella flowers, lettuce, cabbage, broccoli and tomatoes!

Flowers (in the hangers), cabbage, lemon tree and tomato

Just a front view of my cactus garden and the awesome vines

Vines and rows

I am lucky to have help with the tough stuff. Kenny tilled up the dirt and added a bunch of garden soil for me. I found a GIANT black widow and had my brother squash it for me. I wish I had more room for the garden, I would put in raised beds for sure!

Bloom

This morning as I sleepily watered the garden I saw this peaking through the leaves!!

I was so excited I ran and got my phone (camera) and Kenny to see it!!

Isn't it just beautiful? The below picture is now my screen saver on my phone and I couldn't stop looking at it all day!!

It was a great surprise... unlike the surprise I got earlier this week... I was pulling a weed outside of the garden and got zapped by the electric fence. BAM I was wide awake.... The downside to gardening in the early morning hours before you are fully awake.

Oh and look at this picture Kenny's Step mom sent me!!! Jason, Kenny's brother-in-law, caught this today!! They live along the Mississippi river. How neat is that???

Dbacks Game

We had SO much FUN at the diamondback game tonight! Brian, Kenny and I used our Pogo passes to get free tickets and thanks to a kind stranger we got the boys tickets free too! Oh the night wasn't free by any means, but at least the tickets were ; )

I don't know what was so special about this night, but it was FUN. Everyone was in a good mood, we laughed a lot. Not bad for a Tuesday night after Yoga : )
