Campin! 04/10-04/12/09

We went camping this past weekend at a great spot in Camp Verde called Fossil Creek- So beautiful! Here are some pictures from the weekend! Here is Bev throwing the ball for the dogs while we waiting for the road to be opened back up. (

For the Birds...

Thursday (04/09/09) we went to pick up the trailer from Buckeye for our weekend campin' trip. It was then that we discovered some birds had made a nest in the vent about the stove! A small flap leading into the vent had broken off on our last trip... didn't think it was a huge deal to hurry and replace it... WRONG. This was their point of entry. Now they had a nice place to create a nest and did they ever! Well since this was on the inside of the trailer it was my responsibility to clean up... Kenny disassembled the vent on the inside so I could reach and clean it out. I had a bird when I was little so this was going to be no big deal... We banged around to make sure no birds were in the nest (remember I cannot see into the vent area) ... so I stuck my hand in the nest and started pulling grass and sticks etc out... flap flap flap chirp chirp out comes a baby bird! Scared the crap out of me and I ran out of the trailer... Kenny laughed at me and I went back to work. Okay one bird is fine and I can see him so I keep pulling stuff out... plop, plop, plop out rolls ALL 3 baby birds.. one in the sink, one on the stove and one on the ground! YIKES! Once my heart stopped racing I picked them up (gloves on) and place them outside together... hope the make it.

Well that is were the story should end right... WRONG. Later that night we are at Orange Wood RV and Kenny comes up to me... Can you please get the last bird out of the trailer? OMG poor little bird now he is 45 mins away from his family and all alone..
So sad. We will be replacing that flap right away.

Kenny Turns 28!

So on Wednesday 04/08/09 Kenny turned 28 years old!! He wants to thank everyone for the cards, gifts and meals out! This picture was taken camping and I just loved it and am so sad it came out blurry... Isn't 28 year old Kenny handsome!!

Bowler of the Week!!

I am not sure who will believe this so I made a picture of my certificate! I bowled a 198 on Monday, April 6th!! It is my highest score ever, 87 pins over average with a High Game Handcap score of 297!! (#4 in our league!!) Also, that same game Kenny bowled a 220 !! He is awesome!!

Easter Fun

Here are some of my Easter projects! I made these cards which I think came out super cute and mailed them off to family out of state. Also, I made this Easter "basket" for our niece and nephew in Illinois. That 2-liter bottle has a baby outfit, stickers, cars, plastic eggs with candy, skittles and more packed into it. The kids (and parents) got a kick out of the packaging- I mailed it just like that in the 2-liter bottle. Fun stuff!!

My Mom

Somehow my mom seriously hurt her shoulder! We aren't sure how, but she did rip some of the muscles and has to have her arm in a sling! She is a trooper though... all she could say is "I am still going to Branson next week to see little Kenny (my cousin) get married." She is doing better already, but has to be gentle with it and take her pain pills. The doctor wants to see her when we get back from our trip.

Sunday Dinner

So Kenny and I really enjoy having family over (or going somewhere) for Sunday dinner. Growing up my parents always had my grandparents over and that was a day everyone needed to be home for dinner. It is a great time to catch up and just enjoy each other. SO we are trying to get that going again. This week we had my parents come over. I made corned beef, cabbage, red potatoes and carrots. Kenny faithfully ate his chicken to stay on his diet (but he wouldn't have had the other food anyway). The corned beef came out really tough, but we all ate it anyway. My parents are great sports! Anyway, the next couple weeks we are busy... BUT who will come to dinner on Sunday, May 3rd?? Any takers??

Birthday Breakfast (4/5/09)

Sunday morning my parents took Kenny and I out for his birthday. Since he can eat omelets we thought it would be better to go out for breakfast rather than dinner this year. We went to Village Inn and the food was pretty good. My mom and Kenny went to Costco(he had to get a bunch of chicken for his diet) afterwards and she bought him some really cute shorts for his b-day too.

Randomly Awesome Mother Daughter Day

Saturday (04/04/09) my mom and I had the best Mother Daughter day ever! We drove out to Mesa for the Semi-annual "yardsale" and loaded up on deals at Scrapbooks etc. Seriously loaded up on Scrapbook stuff... I mean this is a sale we safe up for--Afterwards we drove back to our side of town and were going to meet up with the boys (My hubby and dad), but they weren't back yet so mom and I went to Applebees for lunch. We shared the ultimate sampler... ah man was it good! We just chatted and enjoyed our meal. Next we went to Kolh's were I had tons of luck finding deals! I got Kenny two work shirts and myself shoes, dress pants and 3 tops! It was a wonderful day and I am so thankful my mom and I could have it : )

Kenny's Mini Vacation (4/2-4/3)

Posted by Kenny--
I decided to take a few days of vacation. The work load was slowing down, so I took some days to myself. I took Thursday and Friday off. Come to find out Nana needed a ride to Payson for a doctors appointment. We ran some errands, did the doctor thing, and ended up driving to Forest Lakes. Nana hasn’t been to the cabin since Bubba passed away. It went better than expected. It was a short trip, but a good trip. We ate lunch at the casino, lost some money, and drove home.

Friday was more laid back. I started off the day at the gym. After getting my buff on, I went to see the Fast and Furious movie. I usually wait until the movies been out for awhile, but I went on opening day. I recommend the movie. Taking some time to yourself really rocks!
