Hi Everyone!!

Here is what we have been up to---
We were lucky enough to get tickets to the diamondbacks vs. the Houston Astros on Monday the 28th. It was a so much fun. The company seats are awesome (row 23!!) and the D-backs played great so it was a fun game to watch. They had the roof open and it was such a beautiful night.
On May 2nd we took Barb and Dave out to dinner as a little thank you for letting us park our trailer out at their house. We went to Texas Roadhouse and man was it good! The next day was Kenny’s concealed carry class. He said he learned a lot from the class and passed the test with flying colors.
On Friday I went to a late night sewing class with my girlfriend from work. It was a lot of fun we all brought snacks and stayed up late working on projects. I sewed a tote bag and two table runners that night.
Saturday we had softball practice with our church team. I got the first injury of the season by stopping a line drive with my knee… it is a nice shade of purple. Also, Kenny and I both got pretty sun burned. It was a fun practice because we played with the other co-ed team and the mens teams. After practice (and showers) we headed over to my brothers house for a mother’s day celebration. We had cake and ice cream and ended up playing a laughter filled game of Pictionary. It was a great time. Kenny and I went to dinner after words at Abucus Inn and went to see the new Harold and Kumar movie. It was pretty funny.
On Sunday (mother’s day), Kenny went to have breakfast with his Mom and Dave and I took my mom to church. Our church went all out for mothers day they had special songs, the cookies and donuts had pink sprinkles and all the women got a gift (a cute bottle of lotion). Also, mom and I got our picture taken at one of the free booths they set up. Kenny had fun over at his mom’s too. Dave made them breakfast and they enjoyed each other’s company. Later we had pork stakes at my parent’s house with my grandparents and parents.

It sure was an action filled weekend. Hope everyone is doing well!
Love ya!

Hi Guys!

Just wanted to send a note to keep in touch. It has been a busy month and here is what we have been up to--

Easter was fun- we had a dinner out in Buckeye with Barb, Dave, Sarah and Quint on Saturday. Then on Sunday we went to my brothers for an Easter lunch. My mom made all the food and brought it out. It was really nice and we enjoyed spending time with them and the boys. Holidays are so much fun with little ones. Also, my brother got a dog. She is really a cute puppy and is really good with the boys. Her name is Kitty...

We had a fun trip to Vegas at the end of March. Kenny was super busy with work so I hung out at the hotel. I enjoyed the quiet time to study and when he was done with work we did a little shopping and went to dinner. Kenny did gamble a little, but didn't win this time.
On Friday April 4th we went to Barb and Dave's for a nice BBQ for Kenny's b-day. Sarah and Quint (Kenny's grandparents) were there too and we all had a good time. Kenny and I put all of Barb's old home movies of Kenny growing up onto DVDs and we watched some of those. That Saturday I got to learn about guns. Dave was kind enough to teach and explain about them and safety and stuff. We went out to the desert afterwards and fired them. That night we went over to my parents house for B-day a pizza party for Kenny. My mom got him a giant oreo ice cream cake too. We went swimming and played some cards.

The next week was a busy travel week for us. On the 8th (Kenny's b-day) I went down to Tucson with my friend Beverly (our marketing rep) and we visited a few agents and took one to El Paso for lunch. I used to get so nervous taking agents to lunch, but now it can be fun.  Kenny did an audit in Globe that day so he was busy traveling too. That night we went to El Paso for dinner (some place I went to lunch in Tucson ha ha). Kenny got a giant desert for his b-day, but luckily they didn't sing to him.

The next day I fly to California and met up with the marketing rep there and we visited 11 agents over the next 3 days. I came home late Friday night and Kenny took me to the Chuck Wagon for dinner. It was a nice treat.

Monday April 14 was our last softball game with our work team. We ended the season 2 and 6. We are really looking forward to our Church team starting back up in June.

Last weekend I spent the day with Beverly for a girls day out. We met at Red Robin for lunch, went to the Goodwill 50% off day sale and then headed to her girlfriends house for a Cookie Lee Jewelry party. Mean while Kenny went out to Ben Avery and got some practice shooting in and enjoyed watching the Suns game. That night we went out to Barb and Daves for dinner. Sunday my grandparents took us out to Carols O Briens for dinner to thank Kenny for all his work on her computer. We had such a great time and enjoyed the good food and good company. My grandparents are doing so well and we are so proud of them. They have quit smoking and started exercising! They are taking walks and she is doing so much better.

On the 23rd and 24th Kenny went back to Vegas for work. The 23rd was Administrative Professionals Day (AKA Secretary's Day) so I took my assistant Carol out to lunch. We always have fun together since we both are really into crafts.

This past weekend we loaded up the trailer and the dogs and headed up north to camp with Barb and Dave. It was a beautiful weekend and we had the best spot to camp. The dogs enjoyed the open spaces and running around. They sure were tired Sunday night!

Last night we got the news that my Great Aunt Edie passed way at 8:20 Sunday morning. She was my dad's aunt. She was living in an assisted living home in California. At the beginning of this year her health started to decline. She had a cold that got so bad she finally went to the doctor. They discovered a mass in her lung and it was cancer. Then on 03/25/08 she had a stroke and was parlayed on her left side. Aunt Mabel (her sister) and Debbie came out to visit in mid April and celebrated her 80th  b-day in the hospital. The girls extended their stay as long as they could and headed home this past Friday. She will be cremated and there will not be a service for her as this is what she wanted. We will miss her, but are glad she is in a better place.

Love you guys,

Amanda and Kenny

Hi Everyone!!

Happy St. Patty's Day!! I hope you are wearing green today so you don't get pinched. Did you have Corn Beef and Cabbage to celebrate? We had my parents over for dinner yesterday and had our corn beef and cabbage plus potatoes and carrots. It was a great way to end a fun and busy weekend.

Friday was our bonus check day! We were so excited to get our checks on Friday and shove them in our savings. The bonus is based on last years end results and are now paid in one lump sum in March. We (company wide) got 8.5% of our salary - which is approximately a whole month income. After I got off at 12:30 Kenny and I met Blair and her daughter Hannah for lunch. Then Blair, Hannah and I went shopping all afternoon starting with Savers and ending at the mall. Blair came over that night and we watch Dan in Real Life again- First time Blair saw it and she really liked it too. Saturday night Kenny and I went out with our friend Beverly from work and her boyfriend Lloyd. They took us to a neat hamburger place near ASU main then we headed over to The Sets which is where we saw some stand up. It was hilarious and good to get out and laugh.

Last weekend was our trip to San Francisco and we had a pretty good time. We rented a convertible, and had to have the heater full blast to stay warm as we cruised around- but we didn't care it was awesome. We really liked Alcatraz, Pier 39 and Fisherman's Warf. We didn't really like China Town since that is where we got our parking ticket! And we didn't have any luck looking up Ronnie, Kenny's half brother. We found his apartment, but we can't be certain that we still lived there. When we got to the airport Sunday morning they had no record of my reservation! We got it straight, but it was a little stressful. Anyway, the trip had some bumps, but for the most part we had a good time.

Also, my 25th b-day just passed. I had a fabulous b-day. My day starting by discovering my dad had decorated my truck. He wrote Happy 25th B-day and put streamers and some ribbons all over it. It was pretty funny. Then I got to work and found my cubicle completely decked out too! Purple balloons, streamers and confetti everywhere. My girlfriends here took me out for lunch at PF Changs- my favorite!! Also, that night Kenny and I went out with my parents to Olive Garden. It was a great day!!

Well, that is about it for us- we would love to hear from you all! Talk to you soon!

Love,

Amanda and Kenny

Hi Everyone,

It's been a while so I thought I would drop a line and see what everyone has been up to. We have our first EMC (our work) softball game tonight. We have had plenty of time to practice since our first city league fell through and we had to find another place to play. The difficult part is placing people in positions and keeping everyone happy about it... we hope for the best and try to remind people it is supposed to be for fun....

Anyway, we had a great weekend with Kenny's side of the family. Peggy (Kenny's cousin?) from Arkansas flew in on Saturday morning and the whole family planned to help Peggy Surprise her Aunt Sarah (Kenny's Grandma). We picked her up from the airport and joined Michelle, Trevor, Andy, Kim and Nanette at Bill Johnson's Big Apple where Sarah and Quint thought they were going out to breakfast with just Barb and Dave. When they came to the table Barb said, well why don't we just sit here and Sarah looked at Peggy for a second before it registered and then got the biggest grim. She was so surprise to see her! It was fun to be part of that. After breakfast we went to the Goodyear park n swap then out to Barb and Dave's for a "Peggy party" that evening.

Also, I passed by CPCU test and just have 2 more classes to go. Anyway, that is about all we have been up to.

Hope all is well and talk to you soon!!

Hi Everyone!!

Happy February! I can see already 08 is going to go by just as fast as 07 since we are already into February!! Well, here is what we have been up to--

On Thursday 01/24 (my Friday) we went to the movie and saw Juno! Such a cute movie- I just loved it. Friday was my day off and I spent it cleaning and sewing mostly. Friday night we had softball. Barb, Dave, Sarah and Quint stopped by and watched us get our first win of the season. Our second game we tied and it was great too. Saturday morning my mom and I got together to make some cards. Her last day at Physiotherapy was Friday and she wanted to make some thank you cards for all her gifts. Well, we were making cards and Kenny was watching a movie in our room with the dogs. He noticed Shelby shaking her head. It was involuntary and resembled a seizure, but was only her head. We thought it was and didn’t want to take any chances so we took her right over to the vet. The vet thought she might have been poisoned. They gave her an IV and a few other things. We took her home and she rested a lot that night. She hasn't had any more episodes so I think she is in the clear. I am so thankful nothing happened to her! Sunday was a rainy day so we rented a few movies and stayed in.

This past week I have been so busy studying for CPCU (for work) we haven't been up to too much. We had softball Friday and before the game we went to dinner with two of the couples we play with. It was so much fun. We won one and lost one this week. Saturday Mom, Kenny and I went shopping in the morning. The pretzel place was giving away pretzels to that really made our day! That afternoon, we all (mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, Kenny and I) went to my brothers house for Little Brian's 3rd b-day party. We had a blast. Little Brian is a riot he gets so excited about everything from us singing happy birthday to him to the paper noise blowers. My dad showed Little Brian how to sit on the balloons to pop em’ and we were all roaring with laughter- Brian would squeal and laugh- then go get another one to pop. Jacob was being such a ham too- just laughing and "talking" away. My brother and Crystal seem to be doing really well and it was fun to have everyone together.
Sunday we went to my parent’s house for the Super Bowl. We had lot so of fun watching the game and eating Super Bowl snacks. Our favorite commercial was the beer commercial where the dog trained the Clydesdale horse. Although, there were a few other that were pretty good. My mom laughed so hard at the talking stain one...

Anyway, that is what we have been up to. Hope everyone is doing well and hope to hear from you soon.

Love,
A&K

Hi Everyone!!

We have had a busy two weeks (nothing new there huh?). Last weekend Kenny and I did the PF Changs Rock n Roll 1/2 Marathon! It was our first but probably not our last 1/2 marathon-- it was physically challenging, but we did it!! Our finish time was 3 hours and 45 mins. Since we didn't train at all I am just thankful we finished!! We are thinking of doing another 1/2 Marathon in April of 2009- in Nashville- It is a country music marathon which is right up our alley. Kenny has already started training, because he wants to run not walk the next one!!

Last weekend we started our church softball league up again. We ended up loosing both games, and found that Friday nights are a little bit more competitive than Sunday nights. It was pretty cold out there, but nice to get some exercise and have some fun. We went out to eat after the 8PM game with some people from the team and that was pretty good. Saturday morning we got to spend some time with our adorable nephews Jacob and Brian Jr. My brother was working on a job near our house so he thought we might like to have em for a few hours. It worked out wonderfully. We went to the play ground near my parents house and my dad and Kenny road little Brian around in my mom's bike (she has a huge basket in the back and he just LOVES to ride in it). Jacob is cooing and "talking" away- it is adorable to get a big smile our of that little guy. Later that afternoon we went to Amberle Brewer's bridal shower. Those are always fun and it was nice to see old friends. Saturday night Kenny and I went out to eat at Johnny Rockets and saw I am Legend. We enjoyed the evening for sure. Sunday I took a quilting class from 12-5 with my friend from work. We learned how to make a "pleated log cabin" quilt block. It is pretty neat and I ended up making a table runner for our sofa table. Poor Kenny had to stay at home and watch movies and relax all day... he he he.

Well, that is about all we have been up to. We are looking forward to driving up north to do some sledding (something I have never done) in the next couple weeks and we are planning a trip to San Fransisco in March. Anyway, hope all is well with you and yours!!

Our weekend--
San Diego was a blast. On the way there Mom and I convinced the guys to go to a few quilt shops in Yuma and we just happened upon a craft show on Main Street! We spent about an hour there and grabbed some lunch before heading on to San Diego. Friday night we ate at a really fun restaurant called Corvettes which was a 50’s style diner. The food was great and the atmosphere was amazing! The waitresses all had these really neat hair styles bee hives and all! Afterwards we headed over to San Diego University for the main event- A night of Hope with Joel and Victoria Osteen (http://joelosteen.lakewood.cc/site/PageServer?pagename=JOM_homepage) ! Although the traffic and our seats were horrible- seeing Joel was SO worth it! I was really happy to have both my parents there and happy to see Kenny stand and recommit his life to Christ. It was an amazing time and one that I will never forget. That night my mom and dad would not stop snoring.  It was like sleeping by the train tracks.  One would stop to breath, and the other would start up.  Kenny slept in the middle of the interstate hoping for some quite time.
The next morning we ate a big breakfast and Denny’s and bummed around San Diego. We ended up venturing to into one of the biggest quilt shops my mom and I have ever seen! It was amazing and double the size of any shop I have ever been in. Next we headed over to the beach- it was rainy and overcast the whole trip, but we couldn’t be that close to the beach and not go. It was nice to smell the fresh salty air. Dad and I collected some sea shells to take home and mom and Kenny watched us from the sidewalk (chickens didn’t want to get their shoes wet and sandy). We did some shopping that afternoon. Saturday night we had a great meal at Red Lobster! Since we were near the ocean we felt compelled to eat some sea food! – except Kenny he had stake since he doesn’t like seafood. On Saturday night the snoring horn group was at it again.  This time Kenny had ear plugs and a pillow around his head to keep out the noise.  They had to rezone the hotel due to the two of them.  We headed home Sunday morning and made good time- our dogs and my parents dogs sure were glad we were home!  Sunday night Kenny and I finally got some good sleep.  It's amazing how much sleep you can get without a diesel truck in your room.
Anyway, hope everyone had a fabulous weekend-

Hi Everyone!!

How was everyone's Christmas and New Year? Have you made all your new years resolutions of how to be GREAT in 2008?! I am really excited for the new year, a fresh start, new clubs to join and projects to start.

We have been so busy with the holidays I haven't been keeping track of our "Kuhn Update" so I will do my best to remember all the highlights of our holidays. Last month I took a few sewing classes, one with my mom which was a lot of fun and another in Wickenburg (which is about 45mins from us) both of those were lots of fun. I am enjoying learning new techniques and strengthening old ones. It is always fun to take classes and meet new people.

We have been spending lots of time with my brother and his family this past month. On December 4th my brother celebrated his 28th birthday!! We took over some pizza and played games with my brother and the boys. It was a blast and I hope to make it more of a weekly thing than a yearly thing! Also, we all went to zoo light and of course spent Christmas together.

Kenny took a trip to Vegas the week before Christmas to get a bunch of audits done, before the end of the year. He had a good trip, but I think he was pretty glad to be home-- although the dogs missed him they didn't complain too much about sleeping on his side of the bed while he was gone!!

The Monday before Christmas we had a nice meal with Barb, Dave, Sarah and Quint and exchanged our gifts. We had our annual luncheon here at work and got off early the Friday before Christmas (we also got Christmas Eve and Day off- spoiled I know). On Christmas Eve we enjoyed a nice lunch at Texas Road House with Barb, Dave, Sarah and Quint.  Afterwards we headed over to my Grandma's house to meet up with my parents, my brother and Crystal, Chrissy and the boys. We ate sandwiches and snacked on veggies (yeah Kenny skipped out on the veggies....) Christmas is so much fun with little kids. Brian and Crystal are always so great about letting Kenny and I hog Jacob- and we got to help him open his gifts. I think his favorite thing was the (shiny) gold ornament that grandma got for him. He is such a doll. We pulled out some old home movies and had fun watching videos of "Christmas past"

Christmas Day my parents came over in the morning and we did the whole gift thing and hung out for a while. Shortly after we headed to Nanette's to say hi to everyone there. Kenny wrapped Andy's present "special" for him-- using a whole roll of packing tape... Andy was a great sport and everyone got a kick out of him opening the gift. After that we headed over to Barb and Dave's house to spend some time with them.

New Year's Eve Kenny, mom and I went to a show called Living Illusions at our church. It was pretty awesome and a fun thing to do for the holiday. We did stay up to watch the ball drop... although I did have to nudge Kenny awake for my new year’s kiss! We had a nice day off and got to go over to Barb and Dave's and have ham and black eyed peas with Sarah and Quint too.

Well, that is pretty much it for us-- Friday we are taking off to see Joel Osteen in San Diego with my parents. Also, this Friday we will be celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary!

We hope to hear from everyone and see how your holidays went and keep in better touch in 2008!

Love,
Amanda and Kenny

I haven't written in a while so I thought I would write to say hi. We have pretty much up to the same ol things just a different month and better weather! Our softball season ended and our team ranked 7/8. Our team had a pizza party to celebrate the season and our coaches handed out gag awards-- Kenny got TP that was "new and improved" like him and I got an oven mitt for "best baker" since I brought treats to lots of the games. We both really enjoyed the season and are looking forward to starting up again in January. We are actually starting up a second team with our co-workers and we will be playing on Tuesday nights too. I will be coaching the new team... scary thought but it should be a lot of fun too.

Kenny and I have been keeping busy with some home projects. We painted the dining room, put up some shelving in the garage and finally hung some pictures in the living room. Kenny has taken up a new hobby of woodworking and so far has built a great work bench, the shelves for the garage and had plans to make some bread boxes.

Earlier this month we went to Vegas for a two day trip. There was a Quilt Shop Hop that I wanted to go to so Kenny made a bunch of appointments for work so we could go. There were 6 shops and each shop I got some free quilting thing (ie a ruler, travel scissors, fabric etc). It was so much fun.

We did a little something different this year for Thanksgiving. Since Barb has to work the afternoon/evenings Kenny didn't want to miss out a Thanksgiving with her so we had a Thanksgiving breakfast. Kenny made us biscuits and gravy with sausage and Bacon and Eggs. We played some Pictionary and just enjoyed our time together. Later we headed out to my brothers house for a more traditional Thanksgiving feast. Crystal and Brian did such a great job and everything was just delicious.

Happenings

We were lucky enough to get a chance to attend Game 2- Diamond Backs vs. Colorado Rockies on 10/12 with our friends Beverly and Lloyd--- although they lost it was a great game! It is so much fun when the fans are pumped up and we can scream and cheer on our D-backs. At the gate they gave out white towels to waive in the stands- it was pretty cool seeing all the white in the stands and the cheering fans! The row in front of us won a contest and since they were on the "big screen" and I got on too and was delighted- Kenny thought it was funny how excited I got to be on "TV".  Before the game we went with Bev and Lloyd to Bill Johnson's Big Apple for dinner- yum!
Last Sunday my brother and his boys came out to visit with my parents and us. My dad got out his remote control cars and Little Brian loved them! Even Jacob did! He was doing everything he could to get out of my arms-- he wanted to crawl on the street to watch the cars! It was a great afternoon and we always enjoy spending time with them.

This past week Kenny and I celebrated our 8th "dating" anniversary at the AZ State Fair. One of our first dates was at the fair and of course that was where Kenny proposed so we like to go back and celebrate there. We ate some good ol' fair food- Indian Fry bread. We thought about trying out a deep fried snickers or a frozen Dr. Pepper- but just couldn't do it :-)  We walked through and looked at all the vendors, road the Farris Wheel and walked through the petting zoo.It was a great night and a fun way to celebrate our relationship.

This past weekend we went on our trip up to Kingman for March of Dime Walk America! Thanks to all of you Kenny and I exceed our goals of $150 each and raised $365 for babies!! Kenny picked up the trailer on Thursday and we headed out on Friday afternoon. We stayed at a great RV park up there and the weather was beautiful on Friday night. Kenny BBQed some chicken and we watched a movie (yes the RV Park had cable-- we really ruff it huh?). Saturday morning was chilly, but we were pumped up for the 7.5 mile walk. We did pretty good considering 1/2 the walk was up hill and against the wind! The last stretch of the walk was downhill and the wind was pushing up-- that was awesome. We completed the walk in just over 2 hours and we were soar -later : ) After the walk we drove into Laughlin. Kenny tried his luck at a black jack table and was going great until the switched the deal and she took all his winnings and $9. He decided to quit and we went to see Heartbreak Kid at Riverside. Afterwards we fed our extra popcorn to the ducks and headed back to camp. Saturday night Kenny grilled up some steak and potatoes- delicious. Saturday night we froze! It got down to 49 degrees inside the trailer! We came home Sunday morning, took the trailer back and went to Softball.

We are nearing the end of the softball season, but will continue with our team starting up again in January. Our "tournament" is this next Sunday. We are in 7th place (out of 8 teams), but our team has really improved and we just enjoy being out there fellowshipping and getting some exercise.
