Vacation Day 3- Sea World

We left LA about 7AM to beat the traffic and get into San Diego by 10AM. We stopped at Denny's for breakfast.

Little Brian ate his entire breakfast and practically licked his plate clean! All he had left was his syrup and we joked with him that he needed to drink it to finish his meal and eat all gone! Little Kenny offered him $1 to drink it! He declined so we started working on Jacob... we were totally kidding with the kids and didn't think they would do it... Jacob picked up that cup and chugged it!! We were shocked, in fact Brian and Little Kenny didn't even see him start to do it because they had moved on to paying the bill!! He is such a champ! We all pitched in money for him... He was very proud of himself (ALSO did not get sick by the way)

Little Kenny laughing at Jacob

We made it to Sea World just after 10 AM... along with everyone else and their mothers! It was BUSY! Duh it was Saturday! The guys wanted to hit Journey to Atlantis the ride first-
Oh those 3....
We didn't wait long in line and actually convinced Little Brian to ride! I was so proud of him!! Then... the ride broke!! Seriously we were wading in this pool area for about 30 minutes before the escorted us off the ride. (I feel really sorry for the people in the top left of the picture that had to get off on that tall part of the coaster!!). We got a front of the line pass to use later in the day, but it still put a huge damper in our day since it was 11:30 and we hadn't really done or seen anything yet!
Jacob and Little Kenny  (Jacob picked to ride with Little Kenny in the front!)
Kenny
My Mom and Little Brian - he was SO upset from the ride!
We stopped to look at the aquarium on the way out of the ride. I just LOVE the expression and wonder in Jacob's face!

Later we hit the Blue Horizon Dolphin Show:
Little Brian and Kenny
Little Kenny bought the boys dippin dots, which they enjoyed ... sometimes more than the show! I would look over to see their expression and their heads were in the cups! lol
Jacob

Love Jacob's expression here!

We sat in the splash zone... seriously thats the only way to go!!

Kenny used Little Brian as a shield so he wouldn't get soaked...
And Little Brian just figured out he was Uncle Kenny's shield! LOL

Jacob, Little Kenny and Brian - right after the splash
And then this one splashed us....

Little Brian was so funny he squealed and proclaimed that he had his mouth open when we got splashed!

We fed the Bat Rays.... well most of us did! Little Brian and Kenny's friend wouldn't try it. Their loss, because it is a really cool experience! You have to put a dead fish in between your fingers and lay your hand flat, palm up in the ice cold water and wait for the Bat Ray to come vacuum it out of your hand!

My mom!
My mom was cute after she tired. She shrieked and shook her hand and said ewwww, that was so weird! Jacob of course was fearless and petting them as they came by ! The feel like wet suits or something...  Little Kenny tried too, but I didn't get a picture.

We just had to see Shamu so we went to see the show One Ocean... if you thought the splash zone was dangerous at the Dolphin show you would be very surprised how SOAKED you can get by Shamu!!

And you get soaked more thank once...

Brian with an ice cold, wet shirt!

Since we were already soaked we decided to hit Shipwreck Rapids... The wait time was supposed to be 75 minutes but it turned into almost 2 hours! We voted on waiting for this ride (my vote was no BTW) and I just couldn't see waiting for one attraction so long!! I was intrigued to ride this ride, since Kenny and I missed it last time around, but I say it was not worth the wait! One plus was that Little Brian really liked this ride! It was so cute to see him so excited about a ride for once! We asked Jacob if he liked it and he yelled, " NO!" threw his chattering little teeth!

We used the huge driers to get a little relief but we were still soaked to the bone! My mom was hungry (she is diabetic remember) when we started the line... By the time we finished the ride she was so sick! She decided she was done for the day.

She felt so bad like she was ruining our day or something, but really we were all DOG tired, wet and sun soaked! I really wanted Jacob to see the Octopus in the aquarium before we left so Little Kenny was the hero of the moment and took him through the aquarium. He loved it of course and told me all about it!

While we were walking toward the exit Little Brian became very concerned to find out that his grandma was sick. He told her he would take care of her and he was done at the park too. He has such a big heart! I love that kid!!

Once my mom got some food in her belly and some of our Dr. Pepper she perked up a little bit. We still had the front of the line pass and she really wanted us to use it. Little Kenny, his friend and Jacob caught up to us just in time and Little Kenny, his friend, Kenny, Brian and I ran over to ride the Journey to Atlantis ride .. again.

Jacob was a champ and wanted to sit in front again! This time he sat with his dad. We all got pretty soaked... when the ride was coming to an end, Jacob yelled, "That was NOT awesome!" and again he was freezing cold. I think if it weren't for the water he would have liked it just fine. I still think he is awesome for trying it even if her wouldn't do it again.

We made our way to the car to get the Little boys into dry clothes... I switch Jacob into a PJ top, his brothers dirty underwear and pants and he was happy as can be!

That night my mom stayed in so she could recoup a little more and the rest of us headed out to Applebees... For some reason our group has the hardest time getting good service... we waited forever for our food and we had to ask a manager for our check... the boys were SO tired... Little Brian put his head on the table and said, "When do we sleep??" Ha ha Aunt Amanda was able to tucker him out!!

DAY 2- Universal Studios

I haven't been to Universal Studios since I was a kid and I really don't remember it being all that exciting. My mom and brother wanted to go and so of course we were all game.

Here is my mom and Little Brian as we entered the park area:

This was a shop that just looked cool:

All of us in front of the Universal Studios sign-

Little Kenny entering the park on the red carpet
Kenny's friend noticed a great deal for Universal Studios and Sea World for $125 for adults and $115 for kids! That is a great deal since both parks charge admission around $80!

Our first celebrity siting was Frankenstein!
Jacob, Little Kenny, Little Brian, FRANKENSTEIN and Brian
Frankenstein took a liking to Little Brian and wanted to take him home with him! Hilarious!

Kenny, Little Kenny holding Jacob, Brian and Little Brian in front of the mystery machine
Brian and Kenny being with Jacob... it was shocking the responses they got... Like, "oh how sweet " and "Cute"

The view of the bottom part of the park:

More of this...

Little Brian was SO excited when he saw the Transformers Building that houses the newest ride at Universal Studios:

They were beyond ecstatic to meet Optimus Prime, but when Jacob saw Bumble Bee I thought his eyes might pop out of his head!

When Bumble was approaching his picture taking booth, my mom sorta of just stared at him in shock. It was funny to the rest of us, but she said she thought he was going to step on her and was genuinely scared. He waived to her : )

Next we waiting in line to ride the Transformer ride. The boys have been looking forward to this ride for months... pretty much since we decided we were going to take them to Universal they have been talking about it. The building you wait in line in was decked out with transformer stuff every where... it was called the nest.
Little Kenny and Jacob

Jacob, Little Kenny and Little Brian by the Allspark

The ride was pretty amazing and wasn't one of those rides that shakes your brains around! Jacob and Little Brian LOVED it! Jacob came up to me afterward, with wide eyes and said, "Bumblebee catch us!" Priceless!

Next we journeyed into Jurassic Park...

The ride was amazing and the coaster picture of the boys was priceless!! The boys faces are hilarious. Little Brian was pretty upset when the ride was over, but Jacob insisted he wasn't scared at all... his face tells another story!

This picture was taken in the gift shop. The T-rex above the boys is pretty much what they saw attacking us right before the coaster fell... Little Brian was still scared!

We stopped and got a snack... my brother and Kenny cuddled... I am not sure why its funny... but it is

We went to ride the Mummy Ride, but the boys totally freaked out when we had to wait in a pitch black room... they are not fans of mummies, zombies or anything like that. I picked up Jacob and he was crying and so I took the 2 little boys out and we waited while everyone else rode the ride. I was wondering how my mom would do because she isn't much on rides... she came out grinning ear to ear and told me we had to go again! So Brian took the boys and the rest of us went again. It was a GREAT ride!! I loved my mom's enthusiasm and excitement for the rides. She isn't usually one to try the adventure things, so it took me by surprise. I loved it!

We went to the top and decided to ride the Simpson's ride.... It was a lot of build up and they sure paid a lot of attention to detail making this 'ride' and the waiting area for the ride.

This is only ride that really made me feel sick... not a big fan of spinning.

Although, they don't have the Back to Future(Kenny's absolute favorite) area at this park anymore there are still remnants left behind... like Doc Brown's restaurant:

AND Doc Brown himself!!

We waited in line for a long while for the tram ride... our feet were hurting and we were all ready to sit for a bit!
This was on a sign in the waiting area for the tram

The Tram ride was my favorite part of the day (I think... I have so many favorites!) This is the New York City Back Lot area... they were actually filming near here on the day we toured!

Oh and how can you go to Universal Studios without experiencing King Kong... the original area burned down a few years ago so they rebuild and made it a 3D show...

We also saw cars, cars and more cars including the Delorean from Back to the Future!

And a flying car from Back to the Future:

We all loved the Fast and Furious stop... flames, gun shots and dancing cars! Awesome!

Here is a picture of Kenny enjoying the tour:

A Flash Flood
Jaws!

The Bates Hotel... escorting a guest to their car...

I forgot what movie this was from, but it was really neat to see this 'plane crash' set

I love the boys expressions in this picture... we were in the mummy tunnel with spinning walls! ha ha

Oh NO cousin Kenny got eaten by a shark!

Kenny being silly at the Lorax photo booth:

Me, the boys and the Lorax!

Little Brian and Jacob meet Sponge Bob

Fiona, Little Brian, Jacob and Shrek!

Marilyn Monroe

The boys meet the Donkey (he made comments about their lack of hair...)

Little Kenny hard at work in New York City

Kenny, Jacob and Little Brian meet Scooby Doo

Beetle Juice

Me on set with Lucy!! I love Lucy!

Jacob with his giant T-rex he chose as his souvenir

We decided to go to Olive Garden for a big dinner since we hadn't eaten much but junk food all day. The meal was good, but I found remnants of blue crayon in my fettuccine Alfredo... They ended up giving me my meal for free and $20 to each of the paying parties in the group. That worked out good, but I left feeling hungry... boo

While we were at the restaurant my cousin Kenny tagged us all including my Uncle Rick on FB... We were only a few miles from my Uncles house and he insisted we come by for a visit. I have nothing against him, but I knew he only wanted to visit with my cousin Kenny....
Jacob, Kenny and Brian waiting...

We made the most of it and played with the boys... wrestling and trying different yoga moves. Little Brian let his dad do 'his move' on him... kept laughing historically and wanted him to do it again! We asked Chris if that brought back any memories for him since my brother used to wrestle him and Jason all the time, but he didn't remember...
