Friday afternoon Kenny and I hooked onto the trailer and headed down to Tucson to meet up with some friends at Peppersauce Campground near Oracle.
The camp ground was a little tight for a trailer, but with Kenny's expert driving he got the trailer into the spot no problem!
Saturday we relaxed, ate, played cards... ate some more.

Finally it was time to go check out the cave...
Here is the entrance ... to the cave
Jereme and Melodi, Kenny and me
Here is one of the skinny areas we had to climb up
I couldn't capture the sparkles with the camera but this was sparkly
Kenny taking a breather in the cave. It was so strange that you could see your breath, but it wasn't cold... in fact it was so humid that we were drenched with moisture.
Here is one of the better pictures, but I had some trouble taking pictures inside the cave because 1) the MUD and 2) the lack of light! It is pitch black in there and although the flash would light up a small area it couldn't always give enough light to take the pictures. We were literally crawling/climbing and falling in slushy mud so my hands were covered in mud (and so was the camera by the time we exited!)
This is the last "hole" we had to crawl through to come back out of the cave.
last room... we can see day light again!
In the picture we don't really look that muddy, but trust me we were COVERED in mud!
Saturday night it was Kenny and my turn to cook (Jereme made us sloppy joes and french fries the night before and French toast for breakfast - yummo). We made Taco Tents...
If you are a camper with a pie Iron you might want to try these-
Taco Tents
2 tubes of refrigerated crescent rolls
1lb prepared taco meat
2 c shredded cheese
salsa, tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream etc
Build a flaming campfire. Generously grease both sides of the pie iron with non-stick cooking spray. Unroll crescent rolls and separate into squares, leaving every two crescent rolls together. There should be 8 squares. Place one square on one side of the pie iron and soon the prepared meat and cheese (we added the salsa too!) into the square. Top with another crescent roll square (we just folded it in half to make a little pocket). Close iron and hold over flame for 3 mins on each side, until crescent squares are golden brown. Remove from fire and open carefully with a hot pad (we used tongs to remove them from the iron). Garnish with salsa, tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream etc.
Sunday morning we made breakfast burritos and headed out to shoot the guns. Jereme brought a bunch of produce and the guys set it up on the mountain side for us to aim at. It was actually pretty fun, although I wasn't a fan of shooting Kenny's .45 (too much kick for me) , I am more of .380 girl.
We headed home in the early afternoon. When we got home we did the usual unloading, cleaning etc of the trailer and then took it back to Buckeye. We were lucky enough to be invited to dinner at Sarah's. We were both sunburned, bruised, sore and tired and really enjoyed the wonderful Chicken n dumplin' dinner Sarah made us
from scratch.
Now its back to work to rest up from the weekend! Hope yours was great too!
