Let's Go Cardinals!

Kenny has become quite the Cardinals fan and loves watching the games... however Shelby does not enjoy game time as much.... Kenny gets into the game--BIG time! He yells and claps and our shy, little, black lab gets very nervous.
Glad the Cards were able to pull off the win tonight!

Anyone want some magazines?

I subscribe to A LOT of magazines... plus I have a friend that shares with me and I buy a lot randomly at the store... so this is what I end up with...
I am going through them deciding what to keep and what to toss. I got through all the Quilting ones this morning and still have these- Country woman/country, AZ highways etc, Card making magazines and the last stack is Scrapbooking magazines.
At least I have organized one section of my crafting space-- see much better.
Now... what to do with all those magazines I need to get rid of ? Anyone want them? How about a flat rate box FULL of magazines?? This give away is for 4 books, 28 magazines and 2 patterns!
In order to be entered to win this VERY HEAVY box of inspiration you just need to advertise Our Retreat on your blog and leave a comment below with a link to your blog. Some of you have already advertised so this will be super easy for you (but still please leave a comment with a link) ! I will choose a winner this Friday, January 15th, 2010 by using a random number generator on google.

EDIT- LOOK at this awesome giveaway too! I am signing up and crossin' my fingers I win... but you should try too (for 2nd place ; ) )

Thanks and good luck!

A gift...

So my friend Carol gave me this cinnamon roll, wait not sure that is the right term, maybe honey bun? lol I don't know. Anyway, she gave me this super cute fabric that is 1 1/2 in strips, isn't it cute!?? I just love it and I don't want to take it apart and use it! Okay, okay I will maybe at our Retreat in March . Aren't I spoiled??

Jacob's 3rd Birthday Party

Since we just had Christmas we were having a hard time coming up with something to get Jacob for his b-day. Crystal came up with a good idea just to take him to Wal-mart by himself (no big brother Brian) and let him pick something out. I was a little worried about this, but I am so glad we did it!
Jacob was very excited to go to the store and pick something out... he chose a "bumblebee car" (which is actually just a yellow Camaro), a "bad boys cop car", a Cars movie car, an airplane and a pillow. We also bought him and Little Brian Cokes to drink with lunch : )
After shopping the family met at the park. When my parents got there the boys were so excited they ran up and hugged them and when they hugged my dad they actually knocked him over!
When dad and Kenny came back with the Pizza's the boys went running saying "The Pizza man is here!" We had pizza and it wasn't long before Jacob was ready to dig into his sponge bob cake...
he started by taking a bite of his candle (don't think we just sat and watched him do that... but once we realized what he did I had to take a picture... his original face was a lot funnier than what I captured here).
We played on the play ground equipment while the girls, dad, Kenny and my brother played some basketball. I am not sure the "look" my brother was going here for, but it was pretty hilarious...
There are always a lot of laughs when my brother is around and today was no exception. He makes us laugh. We love him even though he torments the boys, my mom and I... Him and Kenny like to gang up on us with pranks. We had fun watching the little boys laugh at popping all the balloons (pretty much faster than we could blow them up).

Hope you enjoyed this beautiful Saturday!

Baby Pictures...

So here are some pictures of the twins... unfortunately we still have not seen them with our own eyes... Kenny and I both have colds (his way worse than mine!) and we didn't want to take the chance of getting them or Michelle sick.

Here are some pictures from Pat--

Nanette and Sarah on the day of the C-section. They got to be in the room while the babies were born!

Michelle is home from the hospital and Trevor came home from Canada today! Just a while longer and the babies should be home too!

GET IT DONE SEWING RETREAT

This year is my year to get things done! The best way to do that is to MAKE the time to sew, sew, sew my little heart out. I have enlisted the help of my good friend Carol to help me put on a GET IT DONE SEWING RETREAT on Saturday, March 13,2010. Carol and I will be sewing all day with all of you out there who choose to join us! We are going to play fat quarter bingo, have "door prizes" and will give away prizes for completed projects. In addition to all that we are even offering "goody bags" to the first 10 people to sign up (5 here and 5 on Carol's blog) !!

To sign up, just advertise our event on your blog and leave a comment below (or on Carol's blog) that you will be "attending" and send a link to your blog post.

Don't delay - sign up today!

More information-
To play FQ Bingo you will simply choose 25 words off of our list (which will be available shortly) for your "card". E-mail your list to Carol and on the day of the event Carol will "call out" words (they will posted on her blog) each hour. The first person to get a black out (AKA all the words on your list have been called) will win the fat quarters. Carol and I will put 1 FQ in the pot for EACH participant!

The "door prizes" will be random. We will pull out names of the people who are participating and post a picture of the prize on our blogs throughout the day.

The completed projects prizes- Sunday we would like everyone who participated to post pictures of what they accomplished during the day Saturday. Each participant will receive one entry. We will pick winner (s) on Monday, March 15

Happy Anniversary!

Today was Kenny and my 7th wedding anniversary and guess what... Michelle delivered her twins today! This is pretty awesome since we just happen to be the Godparents! She said she thought about it and thought about it and couldn't think of a better gift... I can't either.

We haven't gotten to see them yet because they are in the NICU, but you know me I promise pictures to come...

Emma was 4 lbs 11 oz and Matt was 4 lbs 12 oz and they were both 18inches long. They were born at just 34 weeks and will probably have to stay 2-3 weeks before they can go home. Emma is on oxygen now, but they say she is doing much better.

Michelle is doing pretty good and put up with us visiting her this evening even though she was so sick and not feeling good at all. Pray for her and the babies !!

January- 2010 Projects

Here I am making more goals when I didn't finish all of my December projects... I could give you lots of excuses like I took a tough test which took a lot of my time, the holidays etc... but the truth is I just chose to spend more time on the computer than sewing. SO I am going to carry over some projects and add some new ones (from my 2010 Challenge bags), Here they are--

This rag quilt for Zack. It was supposed to be a Christmas gift, but didn't make it.... I actually already sewed it together and just need to clip it and wash it.
Janesse's bag...
Towels
My big secret project was stockings! Since I didn't finish these ones I want to make them for next year.
My scrappy log cabin quilt... I would like to get boarders added, backing and batting purchased and get it to the quilter by the end of the month.
Another one I want to get ready for the quilter.
This mini quilt I would like to try to quilt myself and get the binding on this month...
I want to get all the blocks sewn on this one and maybe the top put together.
Make these fabric books ( that way I can have them on hand for gifts)
Last here are my stamps that I need to use or get rid of--

Happy New Year!

Can you believe it is twenty-ten???! I cannot believe it is here and it is already the 3rd! I need more time to plan my resolutions and finish projects... oh well.

On New Year's Eve I woke up with a horrible migraine and ended up having to stay home from work. I really hated to do that because I had so much work to finish and I didn't want to waste a vacation day.

By the evening I was feeling better and we had some friends over to bring in the new year. We played wii until 2AM! We also played pictionary, uno etc. It was really one of our favorite New Year's Eve celebrations, because we are not really the social, party animal types.

Our 2010 resolutions are--

Kenny-

* Work hard toward being more healthy by eating better (and less) and being more active.
* Walk the dogs 3X per week
* Improve our financial position, by budgeting better and spending less.

Me-
* Improve my spiritual well being by attending church more regularly and reading the Bible this year.
* Improve my health by eating out only TWICE per week, being more active and walking the dogs.
* Do my part to improve our financial position by budgeting my money better, not buying EVERYTHING I want and using what I have.

Toby-
* Lose some weight by walking 3X per week.

Hope-
* I am going to be a better dog daughter by barking less (by wearing my shock collar without complaining when my parents aren't home) and bugging (motivating) my humans to walk with me at least 3X per week.

Shelby-
* Be more social by visiting the dog park at least once per week.
